I was instantly transported back to my childhood when I spotted a packet of frozen jambul, or jamun as we call it, at an Indian store recently. Seeing those glossy, deep purple fruits brought back a flood of memories from rainy days long ago. My friends and I would gather under jamun trees, catching the fruits as they fell, still soaked in rain. We had no care for germs or dirt — we were just kids, lost in the simple joys of the season. Those carefree moments are some of my most cherished memories.
Fast forward to today, and while life is different, jamun still holds a special place in my heart.
